Enrichment

At Beal Sixth Form, we offer academic excellence as well as enrichment beyond the classroom:

  • We offer a tailored programme of support to those who wish to apply to elite universities as well as a dedicated team of specialists working with students who wish to pursue studies in Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science.
  • Students can take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s award scheme or study for the Extended Project Qualification.
  • As part of the curriculum we offer a weekly PSE session where speakers from all walks of life inspire and motivate our students to reach beyond the confines of the classroom.
  • LifeLessons, a discussion-based PSE programme, brings wellbeing and mental health conversations to life, provoking students to discuss sensitive issues in an open and educational way.
  • A huge range of opportunities, updated daily, appear in our digital Bulletin, including links to programmes with universities, degree apprenticeships, national competitions, open days, events and challenges.
  • We take part in the FirstGive initiative, giving our students the opportunity to do meaningful projects with the local community.
  • Our Giveback programme does the same within the school – our sixth formers volunteer across the lower school, acting as role models and inspiring our younger students to do better and be better.
  • We partner with a plethora of innovating charities and organisations such as SpringPod, UpTree, Pathway CTM, Unifrog to give our students access to the best careers advice. For academic challenge, students have access to UpLearn, Massolit and ChannelTalent, as well as BMAT tutoring providing one-to-one support if needed.
